INJECTION MOULDING

It is one of the most common methods used in the plastics processing industry. Plastic injection moulding involves injecting a plastic mass, plasticised under high temperature at a specific pressure, into a mould cavity in which the desired shape is given to the plastic after it has solidified. In the case of small parts, often several or more parts are made at the same time during one moulding cycle, which affects the speed of the process. This method therefore allows the economic production of large batches of products. KGL has the ability to design and manufacture injection moulds to meet customers' needs.

The simplified injection process is essentially

  • taking material by movement of the screw
  • thermal and pressure plasticisation of the material
  • specific injection moulding (moulding of the product shape)
  • cooling of the product in the mould
  • releasing the component from the mould

FILM EXTRUSION

Film extrusion technology is used by KGL to produce an intermediate product, which is then used in the internal thermoforming process, or to produce a finished product that will be sent directly to the Customer.

The simplified film extrusion process is essentially:

  • taking a properly prepared mixture consisting of the main raw material, but also additives such as colouring agents, modifiers and others,
  • homogenisation of the mixture in the extruder cylinder,
  • feeding the compound to the extruder head while maintaining the desired film web parameters,
  • calandering, cooling and winding the film web onto the final roll.

TERMOFORMING

Thermoforming is a technological process involving the thermal and pressure forming of products of a specific shape from plastic film or sheets. At KGL, we use thermoforming technology to produce packaging mainly for the food industry.

The simplified thermoforming process involves mainly:

  • heating the film web to a temperature at which the plastic becomes malleable,
  • deformation of the desired shape in the mould using pressure,
  • cutting the finished product from the film web and preparing it for packaging

EXTRUSION BLOW MOULDING

Extrusion blow moulding consists of plasticising the thermoformable material obtained by extrusion, and then shaping it by filling it with air or an inert gas. As a result, the material reaches the walls of the blow mould consisting of two half-moulds and is then cooled and removed.
