INSERTION OF ABSORBENT PADSAt KGL, we offer our customers absorption inserts complementary to the plastic packaging. Nowadays, the absorption insert is often an indispensable element in the storage of fresh foods such as meat or fish. The purpose of the absorption insert is to absorb excess plasma from the product, which has a positive effect on maintaining top quality and extending the shelf life.

PRINTINGThe printing technology is used in the decoration of cups dedicated to the dairy sector, the catering sector and packaging for eggs. Printing is made using dry offset technology, up to 8 colours.

SLEEVING AND LABELLINGManufactured using injection blow moulding technology, the bottles can be enhanced with shrink sleeves or labels. The label can also be used for egg trays.

FOAMED STRUCTURESDurable packaging with reduced weight thanks to the use of foamed material structures KGL is a manufacturer of foamed film packaging with a significantly reduced density compared to that of solid films, produced from up to 100% recycled materials. Depending on the type of packaging, it is possible to reduce the weight of the packaging by up to several percent while maintaining its mechanical strength. Foamed materials are an excellent alternative to polystyrene (EPS) packaging, which is being phased out of circulation. The foaming process is carried out on an extrusion line equipped with a special device in which a gas (carbon dioxide or nitrogen) is effectively mixed with the relatively high-viscosity plastic. |

FILMS FOR THERMOFORMINGQuality under full control Owing to its film extrusion lines, KGL is independent of external suppliers. In-house film production enables full control over the packaging manufacturing process from the earliest stage and ensures the highest quality of the final product. The materials processed include primarily polyester (PET) and polypropylene (PP). The structures we produce include laminated structures such as PET/PE, coextruded structures and high-barrier structures using the EVOH additive.

100% RECYCLATEFilms and packaging up to 100% rPET content Out of concern for the environment, KGL S.A. is developing solutions to close the raw material cycle. Therefore, packaging films derived from up to 100% recyclates have been created, which are 100% recyclable. The input material is post-consumer rPET recyclates (PCR), which are decontaminated using SSP (solid state polycondensation) technology before being used. Read more>> |
The aim of the decontamination process is to eliminate the risk of migration of harmful chemicals generated during the PET recycling process, by reducing their amounts to levels identified by EFSA as safe.
rPET packaging produced by KGL S.A.:
- does not alter the sensory properties of the products stored in it,
- is resistant to external factors and provide excellent UV protection,
- is resistant to short-term temperature increases, e.g. during sterilisation,
- is labelled identically to the original PET.

RESPECT by KGL PACKAGINGState-of-the-art RESPECT by KGL packaging with a patented flange adhesive application system RESPECT by KGL packaging uses a unique, patented method of connecting the top film to the packaging flange. This creates a secure closure that eliminates the need for a standard PE base film laminated to a PET film. The packaging produced using this technology is 100% recyclable. Read more >> |
The patented system of applying an adhesive layer to the flange allows the packaging to be sealed with standard top films. The adhesive layer is easily removed during the recycling process (at the hot-wash stage) and, as a result, RESPECT by KGL packaging can be recycled into pure PET (as is the case with PET bottles).
RESPECT by KGL packaging with a patented flange adhesive application system has been available from October 2021.

HIGH THERMAL RESISTANCE PET PACKAGING - CPETHigh thermal resistance packaging for ready meals Using innovative thermoforming technology, KGL has produced state-of-the-art CPET packaging with a thermal resistance of up to 200°C. These products are significantly more functional than the currently used PP ready meal packaging, as they can be reheated not only in microwave ovens, but also in classic ovens. CPET packaging (including foamed XCPET) can be made from largely recycled materials. |
